“Campus Relaxation Zone Design” Workshop at IKEA Kowloon Bay

On 22 May, IKEA Kowloon Bay Store welcomed 8 students from C.C.C. Kei Faat Primary School to participate in the Campus Relaxation Zone Design Workshop, organised in partnership with DreamStarter. The event was designed to inspire young minds around thoughtful space planning, with a focus on creating a dedicated Campus Relaxation Zone within their school campus.

Pia Cheng, IKEA for Business Manager, and her team welcomed the group and engaged in a meaningful dialogue with both students and teachers, exploring how well-designed environments can support student wellbeing.

Edwin Lam, IKEA Communication & Interior Design Manager and Kenson Wong, Showroom Interior Design Leader, led an immersive store tour at IKEA Kowloon Bay Store. During the tour, Kenson shared practical insights on colour mixing, material selection, and the versatile use of home furnishing products – all aimed at sparking ideas around flexible and functional space utilisation. Equipped with these insights, the students now have a clearer direction for selecting products to help bring their vision of a Campus Relaxation Zone to life.

This initiative reflects IKEA’s steadfast dedication to engaging with and supporting local communities. We look forward to seeing how their ideas take shape and remain committed to nurturing community-centred design thinking among younger generations.
